Green Tea, Breast Cancer Prevention

Green Tea
For those who like to drink green tea, this info is certainly encouraging. How could I not? In the Experimental Biology 2008 conference conducted by scientists, they examined the effects of anti-oxidants than green tea, and they found that the anti-oxidants contained in green tea may prevent breast cancer.

Studies that have been done before did say that the antioxidants in green tea may prevent the possibility of breast cancer. However, research is still limited, and the mechanisms behind the antioxidant effect is not clear.

Well, recently researchers found that green tea contains anti oxydant EGCG (epigallocatechin-3-gallate) which can help the body's cells from damage and aging prematurely.

As explained by one of the researchers, Jian-Wei Gu, of the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, antioxidants from green tea may help fight breast cancer by suppressing the growth of blood flow in breast tumors as well as could slow growth and increase migration of breast cancer cells.

Indeed, although only tested on female mice, but the study showed positive results. And perhaps also of the results may also apply to humans, especially women. Well let's hope so.
